Weddings at Grace West
Congratulations on your engagement!
Marriage is a wonderful gift from God, and we’d love to help you think about your wedding and, even more importantly, prepare for married life together.
Is Grace West the right church for you?
One of the important things we want to understand at the beginning is where you will be living after you are married.
If you live some distance from Grace West, we encourage you to make contact with your local Anglican church. They may be better placed to support you pastorally, help you prepare for marriage and be part of your life together after the wedding.
We’re also very happy to explore whether one of our church buildings could be made available for the service, in partnership with your local Anglican church.
If Grace West is your local church, you already have a connection with us, or you would like to explore whether we might be able to help, the next step is to complete our enquiry form.
What is involved in a wedding at Grace West?
A wedding at Grace West is more than hiring a church building. It is a Christian service in which a man and a woman make lifelong promises to one another before God, family and friends.
It is often a time to reconnect with church and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus. We want to help you with that also!
One of our ministers will meet with you in the lead-up to the wedding to get to know you, talk about marriage and the promises you will make, help you prepare for married life, work through the wedding service with you and complete the necessary legal paperwork.
There will also normally be a rehearsal before the wedding.
Weddings conducted by Grace West ministers take place in one of our church buildings at Glenmore Park, Silverdale or St Thomas’ Mulgoa.
What does it cost?
The standard fee for a wedding at Grace West is $1200
This includes:
- use of the church for the wedding service
- an authorised Anglican minister as your celebrant
- meetings and marriage preparation with the minister
- preparation of the wedding service
- administration and legal marriage documentation
- a wedding rehearsal before the day
We don't want genuine financial hardship to prevent someone from having a Christian wedding. If the cost would be a significant difficulty, please let us know. While our resources are limited, we will do our best to help where we can.
What if one of us has been married before?
Please still make an enquiry.
If either of you has previously been married and divorced, permission from the Bishop is required before a remarriage can take place in the Anglican Church. One of our ministers will talk with you about your circumstances, explain the process and help you apply for that permission.
Renewal of vows
We are also glad to hear from married couples who would like to renew their vows and thank God for their marriage. While our resources are limited, we will do our best to help wherever we can. We may or may not be able to help you with this.
A renewal of vows is not another legal marriage ceremony, but it can be a meaningful opportunity to reaffirm the promises you have made to one another before God, family and friends.
The standard fee for a renewal of vows at Grace West is $800, including meeting with the minister and use of the church for the service.

The best place to begin is our Wedding Enquiry Form.
The form helps us understand a little about you before one of our ministers gets in touch. Don’t worry if you don't yet have every detail worked out. At this stage, we’re simply working out how we can best help.
Submitting the form is an enquiry rather than a confirmed booking. Once we receive it, one of our ministers will review the information and contact you to talk through what happens next.
